Not to be confused with Unknown, which refers to items whose brand is currently unidentified.

Unsigned (or unlabeled) refers to clothing, footwear, and accessories that are not attributed to any known or confirmed designer or brand. Unlike items from established fashion houses, unsigned pieces are defined by the absence of identifying features—such as logos, tags, or documented provenance. These items exist for various reasons: many are vintage garments with missing or removed labels; others are custom-made designs created without branding, such as for films or one-time use. A significant portion are sourced by stylists from wholesale or independent manufacturers that intentionally leave garments unbranded to allow for mass resale, boutique customization, or private labeling. Occasionally, unsigned items may closely resemble well-known designer pieces—either by imitation or stylistic inspiration—but cannot be definitively attributed to a specific creator.
