"Sine From Above" marks first Gaga and Elton released collaboration.
After release of Chromatica tracklisting many of Gaga collaborators reposted it with description saying what track they contributed in. Two writers of song, Johannes Klahr and Liohn, acknowledged that they co-written "Sine From Above".
It was later confirmed that the track was originally written for Elton John with Ryan Tedder and Sebastian Ingrosso in 2014, with Axwell revealing in a 2020 interview with Entertainment Weekly that the song started out with just Elton singing on it, "a more chilled out, piano, acoustic thing". Burns stated that Elton was on tour in Australia during the time, with the deadline to finish fast approaching. It was eventually recorded via Skype, with Elton in a studio in Australia and Gaga in Hollywood.
