Hugo Pierre Leclercq (born 30 May 1994), known by his stage name Madeon, is a French house/nu-disco producer from France. He gained popularity by means of his video "Pop Culture", which was published to YouTube in 2011 and subsequently received millions of hits in its first few days of broadcast on the Internet. The "Pop Culture" mash-up included "Alejandro" and 38 other popular songs.
Meeting Lady Gaga[]
Madeon was first approached by Gaga's team after his performance at Lollapalooza on October 3, 2012. Gaga's team asked him to be one of the opening acts for the North American leg of The Born This Way Ball from January 11 until February 11, 2013. Madeon took this opportunity to also send Gaga his instrumental track "Revenge" hoping they could collaborate on something together. Later, he received a call from Gaga and from there, they started working on some ARTPOP songs together. They met in person on September 22, 2012 in France.
