Love for Sale is the second and final collaborative album by Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga following Cheek to Cheek. It was released on October 1, 2021, through Interscope and Columbia Records. The album was recorded between 2018 and early 2020, and consists of cover versions of jazz standards by Cole Porter, to whom the record is a tribute.
"I Get a Kick Out of You" was released as the album's lead single in tandem with it's official announcement on August 3, 2021, followed by two live performances called One Last Time: an Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Background
Bennett and Gaga first met at the Robin Hood Foundation gala in New York City in 2011. After the two later recorded together a rendition of "The Lady Is a Tramp" which appeared on Bennett's album Duets II, they began discussing plans for working on a jazz project. In September 2012, Bennett confirmed to Rolling Stone that Gaga wanted to record a jazz album with him and there was a well-known composer associated with the project, and although not on a par with songwriters like George Gershwin or Cole Porter, he did have several hits to his name. In September 2014, the duo released a collaborative jazz album titled Cheek to Cheek, which debuted at number one on the Billboard charts and won a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
The album was scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2021. However, the album was not released in the spring of 2021. There were no announcements about the postponement of the album's release in the spring of 2021. In the morning, on August 3, 2021, an advertisement with the artwork and title of the album, "Love for Sale", and its available pre-order appeared on one of the billboards in Times Square in New York City. Later that day, the official artwork and tracklist, as well as information about the future pre-order of various sets and editions of the album became available online. Just a few hours later, it was officially announced via Lady Gaga's Twitter and Instagram accounts that any version of the album and new merch became available for pre-order. It was also announced via Lady Gaga's social networks that "I Get a Kick Out Of You" is the first single from Love for Sale and an audio version of this song has become available on Lady Gaga's YouTube channel and on streaming services (Apple Music, Spotify).
Recording
On August 3, 2021, Lady Gaga revealed via her Twitter and Instagram accounts that the idea of making a new album, which became Love for Sale in the future, began with a phone call from Tony Bennett to Lady Gaga on the day when Cheek to Cheek was released:

In 2015 Bennett has revealed to Vulture that he and Lady Gaga are working on a follow up to Cheek to Cheek:

Three years later, the duo were seen at Electric Lady Studios in May of 2018. In February 2021, an article in AARP Magazine revealed that Bennett was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2016, though he continued to perform and record. Despite being diagnosed over four years ago, the article confirms second collaborative album of jazz standards. The songs were recorded in "widely spaced sessions" between 2018 and early 2020 at New York's Electric Lady Studios, between Gaga's promotional tour for A Star Is Born and the making of her sixth studio album, Chromatica.

On the upper left of the artwork in a black rectangle above the album title, "Stereo 33 RPM B0033186-01" is written which refers to the catalog number of the standard vinyl release. On every edition that includes this rectangle, only the two Target editions, the International 2 CD set and the limited edition vinyl box set have their respective catalog or barcode number being used instead. On the other editions, the hyper sticker usually includes the right catalog or barcode number.
