The Chromatica era refers to the album cycle for Chromatica. The album was firstly intended to be released on April 10, 2020, but was delayed to May 29, 2020 date due to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. The era began in February of 2020 when Gaga announced the release of "Stupid Love" after the song was originally leaked in January of 2020.

2020

On February 25, 2020, Lady Gaga teased her new single "Stupid Love" via Twitter and a billboard in Los Angeles, California. A music video for the song was released the same day the song was released. The following week, Gaga announced that her new album, Chromatica, would be coming on April 10th, but later she revealed it was going to be delayed to May 29th. On May 22nd, the single "Rain On Me" with Ariana Grande was released before the album was officially released on May 29th to critical acclaim. In June, a small party in collaboration with Paper magazine was hosted over Zoom in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August, Gaga performed songs from Chromatica for the first time ("911", "Rain On Me" with Ariana Grande, and "Stupid Love") at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards and took home five awards, including the award show's first ever MTV Tricon Award. In September Gaga was on the cover of Billboard magazine, 911 was officially released as a 3rd single from Chromatica along with short film and Gaga became face for Valentino's Vove Viva fragrance line and Channel Kindness (book) was published. Thought October and November Gaga kept advocating voting for 2020 US Elections; on 2nd November she attended Joe Biden's Final Presidential Rally, performed several piano ballads and gave speech; on 6th of November Gaga recorded her part for Friends: The Reunion. In December Lady Gaga x Oreo collaboration was announced.
