Jeppe met former Haus of Gaga's Creative Director Matthew Williams at an art exhibition. Matthew subsequently asked Jeppe to remix "Dance in the Dark". The remix debuted live at the 2010 BRIT Awards on February 16, 2010.

During the same period, Gaga was preparing the Arena Version (2.0) of The Monster Ball which debuted on February 18, 2010. She asked for 90s-inspired techno opera songs. Jeppe recorded some tracks in his basement and the some of the results were used as tour interludes such as Puke Film. At the same, Gaga was already working on her third album Born This Way (2011) and asked for more songs. Jeppe sent four tracks but only two were used, "Born This Way" and "Bad Kids".

Before I sent her music, I came up with the idea of Born This Way because she is the first to say very directly that it is okay to be gay or transsexual. So I told her she couldn't say she's gay, but she can say she's Born This Way. That way it also becomes more universal. A month later she called and said she had written the lyrics to "Born This Way" and we finished writing it in one afternoon in the studio.

In the same interview, he was also asked about Gaga's songwriting process to which he replied:

"I learned a lot from it, and it was very fascinating to be in the studio with her during the songwriting process, where she sat and wrote the lyrics. She sat and sang, making up rhymes along the way, and when she found the right rhyme, she moved on to the next line. It was pretty crazy and I wish I could write lyrics that fast."
