"Murder My Heart" is a song by American singer Michael Bolton recorded for his 20th studio album, One World One Love (2009). It was written by Bolton together with Lady Gaga, Mike Mani, and Jordan Omley, with the latter two also producing under the name The JAM in 2008.

The final version, which is on Bolton's album One World One Love, has more guitar in the instrumental. It also features Gaga's and Bolton's vocals before the start of the first verse and in the choruses.

Michael Bolton revealed to Metro how the two of them got together: "I was taking a break from production when my manager and the label tag-teamed me on the phone about writing with a young artist named Lady Gaga who I had never heard of –but they were raving about– they said that she was a huge fan of mine and wanted to write with me.'" He listened to "Just Dance" and decided to make a collaboration with her.

In August of 2008, they wrote together from 8 PM to 6:30 AM and did the same the following day. When they got together in a studio in LA, Bolton told her, “If this is gonna work it has to slay people. And she immediately shot back ‘you murder my heart!’”. They finished the record in London.

When asked about her collaboration with Michael Bolton by Newsweek, Gaga said: "I love Michael Bolton, and I always have. The record label called me and said, "Michael is doing a new album, and who better to write an '80s love song than Lady Gaga?" I said: "You're absolutely right.". I looked at it as an exciting opportunity, especially after I wrote "Just Dance" and I was writing for other artists, everybody wanted me to write them the next "Just Dance". It was always dance music. It was an exciting opportunity to work with someone as timeless as Michael and do a ballad. Do something that I'm really good at that I don't get to show very much.".

As for meeting her, Bolton added, "When I met her in the studio later that night, I realised she was not only about to have a big hit record but Gaga was a superstar about to launch –her energy was so high and her focus excited me. She reminded me of a young Madonna– with more exuberance and emphasis on the art rather than the marketing."

Lyrics[]

Don't wanna let this moment slip away
Cause I-I have something that I really need to say
And it's killing me inside
I think that maybe you don't understand
How I-I would give you all I have and all I am
Till the end of time

You got me defenseless, intoxicated senseless
You cut me so deeply, I must confess

Baby I can't breath, when my arms around you
Baby it kills me cause now that I found you
Your love is like a weapon girl, I can't live without you
You're so beautiful, it's tearing me apart
You murder my heart (oh)
You murder my heart (oh girl)

I need to catch my breathe with you sometimes
Cause I-I get dizzy when your body's touching mine
Girl you're killing me inside
The way you move is much too sexy baby
So I-I surrender to your hands, your lips, your taste
And I'm telling you tonight

You got me defenseless, intoxicated senseless
You cut me so deeply, I must confess

Baby I can't breath, when my arms around you
Baby it kills me cause now that I found you
Your love is like a weapon girl, I can't live without you
You're so beautiful, it's tearing me apart
You murder my heart (oh)
You murder my heart (oh girl)

I crime of passion that I could never escape
Girl you hurt me and changed from the start
I'm just a witness to the scene of my heart
And the way you've been slaying my heart

Baby I can't breath when my arms around you
Baby it kills me cause now that I found you
Your love is like a weapon girl, I can't live without you
You're so beautiful, it's tearing me apart
You murder my heart (oh)
You murder my heart (oh girl)
You murder my heart (oh)
You murder my heart (tears me apart)
You murder my heart (girl)
You murder my heart (oh girl)
