"Enigma" is a song by Lady Gaga from her sixth studio album, Chromatica. The track was written by Gaga, Michael Tucker, Matthew Burns and Jacob Hindlin, and produced by BloodPop® and Burns.
Background
The track was reportedly one of the first recorded for the album, and according to BloodPop®, helped shape its overall concept as early as 2019. It remains unclear whether Gaga’s Las Vegas residency Enigma (2018-2019) inspired the song or vice versa, though the thematic parallels suggest a creative throughline.
On October 16, 2019, Gaga posted one line from the lyrics on Instagram to promote Enigma: "I-I’ll be your ENIGMA @gagavegas #Gaga #Vegas 🧚♀️💕🎰".
