“ Gaga's Las Vegas concert residency, Enigma, is her full-circle moment. The start of the show is like the beginning of her career. Then, she's catapulted into the machine of the business and life and gets changed into "Enigma." I had to create something that would match that story. Her hair at the beginning of the show is very similar to the wig I created for the show's advertisements — it’s blue, stiff, and frozen in place. It’s kind of my way of fossilizing Gaga’s hair. ”

For the show, Sarah Tanno-Stewart does a silver and blue smokey eye, exaggerated black wing with black eyebrows. To create Gaga’s glow-in-the-dark neon orange lips, Sarah used Danessa Myricks Beauty’s waterproof cushion liner in the shades “Pretty Pumpkin” and “Totally Tangerine”.

For AT&T TV Super Saturday Night in 2020, the makeup was changed as the show was live streamed.

Later in an interview with the Daily Mail (September of 2019), Sarah revealed that she “did test a lot of [Haus Laboratories] products during the Enigma show, whether it was on her dancers, or on her.”

Act I

Intro / "Just Dance"

The show begins with "Enigma" an animated character similar to Petga from the ARTPOP: app, appearing on the screen and welcoming the audience. She tells the crowd to turn on all cell phones, cameras, lights, and other devices. Immediately following the video, Gaga is lowered from the ceiling above the mezzanine holding a keytar. An extended, remixed intro of "Just Dance" is played as Gaga is carried to the center of the theatre. The first two verses and choruses are performed with Gaga suspended in midair over the crowd. Gaga is lowered to the end of the runway during the bridge. One of her male dancers flips her over his arm during the bridge. The final chorus is performed with choreography.

"Poker Face"

The song is performed with the dancers and choreography. Gaga and her dancers begin the song on the end of the runway and make their way to the main stage. Minor alterations have been made to the song's choreography since it was last performed during the Joanne World Tour. At the end of the song, Gaga removes her crystal mask while surrounded by her dancers.

"LoveGame"

The arrangement used in both Coachella and the Joanne World Tour begins immediately after "Poker Face". The majority of the song is performed on the main stage with choreography, with Gaga and her dancers making their way down the runway near the end of the song. A guitar riff from "John Wayne" and elements of "Nuthin' But A G Thang" is featured before the second chorus. At the end of the song, the show is interrupted by Enigma. A conversation between Gaga, live on stage, and Enigma, a video recording, takes place. Enigma explains that she is the mystery of Gaga's being and that she wants to show Gaga the future. The stage goes black and Gaga runs off stage.

Act II

"Dance in the Dark"

A video of the creation of an anime Gaga character is seen on the screen above the stage. The video concludes with Gaga chasing after Enigma's light as an extended intro to "Dance in the Dark" is played by the band similar to the Jumping Film and artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball Intro. Gaga appears onstage wearing a wig similar to anime Gaga character in the video and an outfit that refers to the Monster Ball. Gaga appears to be confused as she gazes around the stage. Four male dancers lift her above their shoulders where she roles her body to appear as though she is flying. The rest of the song is performed with all new choreography. While the song had not been performed since The Monster Ball Tour in 2011, it also uses the arrangement from the later dates from the arena shows while maintaining the intro from the album and omitting the dialogue from the Monster Ball.

"Beautiful, Dirty, Rich"

Enigma appears on the screen to explain to Gaga that she is in a simulation of the future. Gaga explains that parts of the future feel like the past. An extended intro to "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" is played as Gaga's drummer is rolled to the front of the main stage. The song is performed with a modified version of it's original choreography. The song had not been performed since The Monster Ball Tour in 2011.

"The Fame"

The song starts immediately after "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich" and uses the original arrangement. Gaga removes her jacket and runs to the right of the stage where a much updated version of "Emma", is waiting for her. Gaga and her dancers perform the remainder of the song with it's original choreography. The second verse, second chorus, and final chorus are cut from the song. The song had not been performed since The Monster Ball Tour in 2011.  

"Telephone"

Gaga is seen being fanned by her dancers before the song begins. A phone is heard ringing and Gaga makes note that there are cell phones in the future. The song is performed with choreography. During the first verse, Gaga and her female dancers make their way to the top of the "cave" where the band is located. Beyoncé's verse, the second chorus, and the bridge are cut from the song. In addition, the outro of the song is performed before and after the final chorus.  

"Applause"

Gaga is seen surrounded by her dancers who are giving her the middle finger. She says she doesn't mind as long as they cheer for her later. The song is performed on the main stage with original choreography. During the bridge, Gaga's dancers help her put on a tulle jacket.

"Paparazzi"

Enigma appears on the screen to warn Gaga about the paparazzi in the future. A "safety-sphere" that resembles the Orbit is lowered to the stage. Gaga enters the sphere and is raised above the crowd. The ArtRave and Joanne World Tour arrangement is performed with Gaga suspended in midair. Her male dancers can be seen dressed as futuristic paparazzi on the main stage. The sphere begins to shake and eventually "crashes" on the stage before Gaga "falls" from it.

"Aura"

Enigma warns Gaga to run before the "paparazzi" capture her and remove her jacket. The dancers place Gaga on a futuristic metal stage prop and begin to oil her, as if she were a robot. Gaga's female dancers rescue her from the paparazzi and the remainder of the song is performed with the modified version of it's original choreography. Enigma appears at the end of the song to congratulate Gaga on escaping the paparazzi, but warns her that if she's not careful she could be stuck in the simulation forever. She tells Gaga that she is equipping her and her friends with the most advanced artificial technology before Gaga and her dancers run off stage.

  • In this act, there are several references of the Monster Ball Tour.
    • Lady Gaga's outfit throughout this act refers to the first act of the reloaded shows.
    • Two props such as the new version of EMMA and the Safety Sphere are references to The Orbit from both the Theater and Arena tours (used in "Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say" and "Bad Romance" and the original Emma from the Arena tour.
    • The Paparazzi performance refers to the Theater Tour version.

Act III

"Scheiße"

The band plays an extended intro to the song as a piece of the cave is moved from the right of the stage to the center. Gaga can be seen inside of a 16ft large robot prop that is being rolled to the center of the stage by her dancers. The robot grows taller and its arms and legs are moved by the dancers. Gaga performs the song from inside the cyborg prop. Only the first verse and chorus of the song are performed. Gaga is lowered to the stage at the end of the song and lifted from the cyborg by two male dancers.

Stage props

"Judas"

The song begins immediately after "Scheiße." Gaga makes her way to the top of the cave during the first verse of the song, followed by her guitarist. There, she performs the original choreography with four female dancers. The first verse and chorus are performed. A stage hand places an electric guitar on Gaga, and her and her guitarist interact while the DJ White Shadow remix outro of the song is played.

"Government Hooker"

Gaga's guitar is removed during a blackout as her costume flashes while the intro to the song begins. The song is performed on top of the cave with female dancers and a modified choreography. Gaga joins her keyboardist Brockett inside the PianoArc where she dances and plays the keys. The last chorus of the song is cut.

"I'm Afraid of Americans" (David Bowie Cover)

A small portion of the song is performed with Gaga still inside the PianoArc.  Enigma appears on the screen to tell Gaga she needs to recover in the "healing place". Gaga's anime character appears on the screen alone. She is confused and can be seen being pulled around by fibers of light.

Act IV

"The Edge of Glory"

An extended intro to the song is played. Gaga is rolled onto the main stage sitting on a rock-like stage prop. She is surrounded by female dancer who begin performing choreography during the second chorus. Gaga is seated on the prop for the majority of the song. She joins the dancers during the final chorus. The bridge is cut from the song. The studio version of the song had not been performed since The Born This Way Ball in 2012.  

"Alejandro"

The song begins immediately after "The Edge of Glory".  The Joanne World Tour and Coachella arrangement is played. Gaga is joined by her male dancers. The song is performed with original choreography. During the second verse, Gaga's dancers remove her robe.  At the end of the song Gaga is being hugged by the only remaining dance on stage. The bridge and final chorus are cut from the song.  

"Million Reasons"

Gaga takes a moment to talk to the crowd. She makes her way down the runway to her shattered glass-inspired piano. Gaga performs the song acoustically on the piano.

Trivia:

  • During the private hire shows, Gaga uses a synthesizer in place of the piano.

"Yoü and I"

Gaga briefly speaks to the crowd.  She is then joined by her guitar players at the end of the runway.  The studio version of the song is performed.  Projections can be seen on the sides of Gaga's piano.  Gaga performs a portion of the song while standing on her piano stool.

Act V

"Bad Romance"

Gaga is carried from offstage by her dancers. She makes her way to the end of the runway where she performs the song with original choreography. During the bridge of the song, Gaga's dancers circle around her while she removes her jacket. The song concludes with Gaga and her dancers at the center of the main stage in the signature "paws up" formation. The French portion of the bridge is cut from the song.

"Born This Way"

Enigma is seen crying on the screen. Another conversation between Gaga and Enigma takes place. Enigma tells Gaga that it is time for her to say goodbye, but Gaga insists on performing one last song for her. The song is performed with Gaga and her dancers performing original choreography on the main stage. Gaga and her dancers make their way to the end of the runway during the last chorus. Rainbow lights illuminate the stage throughout the song.

Gaga emerges from the cave with her guitar player who is playing an extended intro to the song. Gaga makes her way to piano at the end of the runway while talking to the crowd. Gaga performs the beginning of the song acoustically on the piano. Her piano reflects the stage lights upward towards the rear of the theatre. Gaga performs both her own and Bradley Cooper's verses of the song. Gaga is joined by her dancers and band on the main stage where they do a roll call and a group bow.
