The Fame Monster was first released on November 18, 2009 in Japan and Italy before being release on November 23 in North America. Originally intended to be a re-release of The Fame with eight additional tracks, Gaga and her record label announced that The Fame Monster would be a standalone album containing the eight new songs. The deluxe edition of the album contains The Fame in its entirety along with The Fame Monster. The album had 3 singles and 1 promotional single released under a period of two years begining in November of 2009 and ended in April of 2010.
Aside from the album and singles, a remix album comprised of the 9 singles released up to that point along with two new remixes of standard tracks from The Fame was released in 2010. A limited edition compilation box set of 9 CDs containing all of Gaga's physically released singles from "Just Dance" to "Alejandro" including The Cherrytree Sessions with "Christmas Tree" as a bonus and fourth track was also released in late 2010.
