Digital download and streaming are two distinct methods for delivering digital content, commonly used for media such as music, video, and software. Streaming involves receiving content in a continuous stream of data packets for immediate playback, while digital downloads require obtaining the entire file prior to playback.

In her early years, Lady Gaga used streaming platforms such as MySpace and PureVolume to promote her music, while also performing live at local venues in New York City. Since 2008, her music has been available on major streaming and digital download services worldwide. Although the major releases in her discography are generally consistent across different formats, digital and streaming platforms feature the most content compared to other formats. Notably, some singles—primarily remixes—and collections of remixes (often labeled as "Song Name - EP") are released exclusively in digital formats. Certain releases are specific to particular platforms, such as "Live From The Apollo", which is available exclusively to Pandora users.

Dolby Atmos

Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology developed by Dolby Laboratories. For Amazon Music HD in 2019, a few of Gaga's singles were released as Dolby Atmos such as "Just Dance" and "Applause" along with the soundtrack A Star Is Born. On June 8, 2021, Chromatica was made available as Dolby Atmos. On July 9, 2022, The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, ARTPOP and Love for Sale were made available as Dolby Atmos on Apple Music and Tidal.

Trivia

  • Although digital content features the most exclusives, there are instances where physical formats include exclusive songs. For example, "Chromatica" (2020) features "Love Me Right" as a physical-exclusive track. More recently, MAYHEM (2025) includes "Can't Stop the High", available exclusively through her webstore and the Japanese edition, while "Kill for Love" is exclusive to Target, hmv, and JB Hi-Fi, and is not available as digital content.
  • The Canadian EP "HitMixes" (2009) was released solely as a CD.
