In an interview as a part of In Camera series by SHOWstudio which was held on May 30th, 2010, when Daphne Guinness asked Lady Gaga "Do you think that the arts can change the future?", Gaga answered expressing her admiration for Daphne:

I do, I do think hat we can change the future with our voices, and with music and with fashion. And I know why she feels that way. I will say so genuinely and authentically Daphne, when I met you, you change my future.

In the same interview, when asked to what extent her style has been influenced by Isabella Blow and Daphne Guinness, Lady Gaga said:

Isabella [Blow] and Daphne [Guinness] are two genius human beings. Women, Icons, but so much more than that. They are for me a way to look into myself and examine their lives and who they are in an effort to understand myself better. Isabella is an enormous inspiration and so is Daphne, and I cherish their lives. I cherish them both, as if we were cut from he same cloth.

In a behind-the-scenes video for the 99th issue of V magazine, filmed in November 2015, Lady Gaga expressed her admiration for Daphne Guinness.

People look at me differently and I didn't know what that was like, what is it that they see from the outside. And when I look at Daphne I image that it's something like that.

[Daphne Guinness] was like such a creature. And I thought to myself, "If I could find a way to be like that, then I'll be okay," because that is mad, it's magical, it's not any of the things I'm afraid that I am. It's something else. So, I really always-- [Daphne becomes shy and Gaga notices it] I'm serious! I always look up to you, always look up to you!

In the comments under her Instagram post, on May 30th, 2024, Daphne praised Lady Gaga and wrote about their first meeting:

I am still struck at times with an aching melancholic sadness, the void of these lost friend[s] [Alexander McQueen & Isabella Blow] but there are still some of us still standing. Lady Gaga is a shining beacon. Lee loved her, wanted to introduce me, I was too shy but the Philip Treacy took me to her concert I think in 2007 or 8 I forget, it was brilliant. Backstage I was trying to hide, I had gone swathed in veils and tulle thinking I was invisible and LG found m[e] lying behind a sofa, we both burst out laughing and a friendship was born. Alexander [McQueen] called me the next day and said, Told you so, isn't LG the best and why did you go with Philip not me etc… Gaga is the best and her music and artistry is just wonderful.
