В 2008 году в сети были размещено видео с записи песни. В 2009 году фанат встретил Гагу и попросил ее выпустить песню, однако, она сказала, что песня "очень старая" и "уже в сети". Предположительно, она видела, что видео с записи песни уже есть в сети и поэтому она решила, что песня тоже. 27 января 2010 года на аукционе Ebay появился в продаже демо диск Words, одна из песен на диске была "Retro Physical". Чтобы доказать существование диска, продавец опубликовал отрывок песни. Чтобы доказать существование диска, пользователь загрузил фрагмент песни. Через несколько часов, после массовой истерии, лот был снят с продажи. Первая ставка на лот составила более 450 фунтов стерлингов. Трек-лист на EP не совпадал с оригинальным трек-листом, поэтому возникла путаница в отношении того, какой диск был у продавца. Еще один фрагмент с другой частью песни просочился накануне. 28 января 2010 года просочилась полная песня с двумя тегами во время второго куплета и перед последним припевом.
